00 per hour General Function:
The Outdoor Adventure Instructor provides instructional leadership that enables campers to learn experientially, through direct guided experience using sensory awareness, active participation and nature's resources.
He/she works in partnership with visiting staff to create a hands-on experiential learning environment for all visiting campers.
Adventure Instructors are responsible for aiding participants using any of the various Outdoor Adventures (OA) program areas; such as; canoeing, fishing, archery, STEAM projects, group games, and Character Development.
This position requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.
Instructors are also expected to maintain an awareness of potential problems while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in their particular program area.
Outdoor Adventure Instructors are expected to communicate and collaborate with other staff from various program areas.
EDUCATION and or
Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent with customer service experience preferred.
The ability to work well and effectively communicate with a diverse population in a wide variety of situations is required.
Confidentiality and excellent organization skills are strongly emphasized.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES Outdoor Adventure Instructors should be knowledgeable of experiential education and adventure programming.
Have interest in outdoor adventure activities.
Genuine enthusiasm, interest, and commitment to experiential education and a desire to work with children and families.
Expected to be energetic and ready for each day.
YMCA staff must possess and keep current the following certifications at all times:
Adult/child/infant CPR, Frist Aid, O2 and AED ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain safe and secure environment for children, being aware of camper activities at all times Work as a team member with other staff Follow OA daily plans and maintain a learning environment with developmentally appropriate activities Provides for the care of the physical and emotional needs of the campers using positive reinforcement Fostering independence, and acting as a role model for the campers Communicate effectively with campers and other YMCA/JCC staff and branch guests.
Report any concerns to your supervisor Respond to emergencies according to YMCA/JCC procedures Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspect of personal records Arrive on time for your scheduled shift dressed within the provided dress code Have fun! Make sure proper paper work is filled out for behavior/incident reports Meet ODJFS licensing qualifications in training and background check Follow all YMCA/JCC policies, licensing and TQM standards Adhere to any other duties deemed necessary by your supervisor.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
