Executive Director Overview:
The Sylvania Community Services agency is searching for an experienced, strategic, and visionary leader for the position of Executive Director.
The successful candidate will plan, direct and implement policy information with the Board of Directors; establish goals and objectives of the agency; and participate in the strategic planning process.
, The ideal candidate will work with the staff and the Board as well as coordinates the activities of the Board committees.
The Executive Director will provide leadership in many areas including overseeing the Program Managers and Finance Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, directs and implements policy information with the Board of Directors.
- Establishes goals and objectives of the agency; participates in the strategic planning process.
- Works with the staff and the Board.
Coordinates the activities of the Board committees.
- Provides legislative information pertinent to the agency and maintains compliance for legal activities affecting the agency.
- Develops, interprets and implements policy for the agency.
- Prepares the agency's budget with staff and maintains cost control for the agency with staff in concert with the finance committee and Board.
Manages all agency bank accounts.
Coordinates and supervises all fundraisers for the agency; solicits corporate and foundation contributions; and prepares and seeks government grants.
- Manage all aspects of a Tax Levy Campaign for Sylvania Senior Center every five (5) years.
- Develops and evaluates new and existing programs.
- Establishes and maintains good public relations with people who use the agency, the community in general and any governmental agencies.
- Oversees and supervises the Program Managers and Finance Manager.
- Maintains all personnel functions including recruitment, staff development, termination, employee benefits (Health, Dental, Life, LTD, Retirement, and Earned Time Off), staff organization, evaluations and salary administration (ensuring internal and external compensation equity.
) - Coordinates all marketing efforts of the agency including web sites, social media, printed and electronic advertisements, forms, external communications, Expo events/fairs, customer satisfaction surveys, competitor analysis, annual report, press releases, and brochures.
- Coordinates all Information Technology equipment (inventory, ordering etc.
) - Oversee the following target areas:
policy, finance, personnel, marketing, programs, public relations and grant writing.
- Other duties related to the Executive Director's duties as assigned by the Board.
Education /
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business; Master's degree preferred.
5-10 years related experience.
Qualifications:
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and transportation.
- Able to lift 25 lbs.
The Executive Director position's salary is commensurate to experience and qualifications.
