Required Skills
o Review resident care plans and perform care consistent with guidelines and directives as contained in the Care Plan.
o Conduct resident rounds as assigned to ensure residents are neat, clean, safe and comfortable.
o Identify resident problems and report them immediately to a charge nurse or licensed nurse on duty.
o Turn, reposition, and transfer residents with impaired mobility, alone or with assistance of others.
o Initiate corrective actions as necessary and/or seek guidance from a licensed nurse.
o Document all care provided in resident record/ CNA notes in a timely manner following facility procedures.
o Report changes in resident condition to licensed nurse, including but not limited to changes in food or liquid intake, toileting, vital signs or behavior.
o Make sure residents have easy access to call lights and that call lights are functioning properly.
o Respond to resident call lights and assist coworkers to ensure resident requests for assistance are answered promptly and thoroughly.
o Assist residents with meals, including transportation to meals and/or feeding residents unable to feed themselves. Monitor resident intake of food and liquids and encourage residents to eat when appropriate.
o Provide assistance with toileting routines and pericare as indicated in resident plan, ensures residents are clean and dry, collect specimens as needed.
o Observe infection control procedures.
o Perform simple housekeeping tasks to ensure that resident rooms and common areas are free of trip risks or other safety hazards.
o Participate in the development of an individualized plan of care for assigned residents.
o Assist new employees in acclimating to facility policies, procedures and routines.
o Demonstrates genuine care for residents through compassion, kindness and gentleness.
o Assist Nurses and Admissions staff in following facility procedures for admission, transfer and discharge.
o Consistently work cooperatively with residents, charge nurses, other STNA's, other departments and outside caregivers, families and vendors.
o Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
Required Experience
o High School diploma or G.E.D.
o Possess current certification as a Nurse Aide issued by facility's state.
o One to five years of experience desired
o Must be able to speak, read and understand English, follow written and verbal directions and be able to write legibly. Must have computer skills sufficient to enter and retrieve information from a computerized resident charting program and to take courses on a web-based employee training program.
o Have a positive attitude toward the elderly.
o Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally bear weight of 100 pounds or more. Requires constant physical activities including standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, stretching, turning, grasping and reaching. Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, thoroughness and quality of work assigned. Aural acuity to receive detailed information through oral communication, often from persons with speech impairment. Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word, often with residents with hearing impairments.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
