RN / Registered Nurse - Education Specialist II - Staff development - Part Time

General Summary
The Education Specialist works in collaboration with members of Leadership and Center of Nursing Excellence to provide and facilitate in-service education, and professional development activities (including continuing education), with special emphasis on patient care areas. Educational delivery may be focused at the department, division, or hospital level. He/she serves as a consultant, researcher, performance improvement leader and project leader in his or her area(s) of expertise and supports the development of competence in clinicians through educational activities, including direct teaching and/or in collaboration with unit/department based clinical educators. The Education Specialist represents education in research, practice, and service activities, including special projects and performance improvement activities with particular focus on the learning of staff and patients/families. Work is performed in accordance with ProMedica's Mission, Values, Safety behaviors while focusing on patient and family centered care and aligning with accepted nursing standards, established hospital policies and procedures and applicable regulations.
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree in Nursing or Education preferred.
Must be able to obtain Masters Degree within three years from date in job.
Specialty certification obtained within two years from date in job
Licensure
Registered nurse the state of Ohio and/or Michigan.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Demonstrated competence in area of specialty.
Minimum of 3-5 years of health care experience with preference given to education experience.
Commitment to providing adult learning in the healthcare setting.
Computer proficiency required.
Experience with computer-based learning preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
